Flora is one of London’s most exciting emerging jazz vocalists, an experienced music educator, vocal tutor and choral director.
Flora is an experienced jazz singer, and has performed, recorded and workshopped with many world-class jazz musicians, including Ian Shaw, Claire Martin, Mike and Kate Westbrook, Scott Stroman, Malcolm Edmonstone, Pete Churchill, Lee Gibson and Kurt Elling. She has also performed at numerous top London venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, 606 Club, Spice of Life, The Jazz Cafe, Milton Court, The Vortex and Crazy Coqs.
Following the completion of a Masters in Jazz Performance at the Guildhall School of Music, Flora was subsequently named Guildhall Jazz Fellow for 2014-16. Flora also teaches Music at The Guildhall School of Music, Junior Department, as well as one to one vocal tuition, and leading vocal ensembles.
Prior to commencing her Masters in Autumn 2012, Flora ran a large and successful music department at a top London grammar school.
Flora also sings in several vocal ensembles, including Silk Street Singers – a female close-harmony group, and the London Vocal Project – one of the UK’s leading contemporary vocal ensembles led by jazz composer and director, Pete Churchill.
